Well, they threw all of that out the window when they passed Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill — or the Big Beautiful Betrayal, as I like to call it.

You’ve probably heard they took health care and food away from millions of Americans to give handouts to the ultra-wealthy — but there’s more. The Republican budget also shuts down clean energy projects, strips funding for wind and solar tax credits, and wipes out countless investments we made to make electricity more affordable for millions of American families. The Republican cuts are projected to hike your energy bill by up to $400 a year, force American factories to shut down, and eliminate HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of American jobs.

MAGA Republicans seem determined to backtrack on all of the progress we made years ago in the Inflation Reduction Act — no matter how much it costs everyday folks.

We won’t stand for it. And my Democratic colleagues and I are doing everything we can to fight back: In the Senate, we just came together to introduce the Lowering Electric Bills Act to restore some of the IRA’s most critical clean energy tax credits, and bring down energy costs for working families.

We’re going to keep fighting to get these investments back in place, because abandoning our booming clean energy economy doesn’t bring us any closer to energy independence — it just makes us more reliant on fossil fuels, and raises costs on working people.
