In my years of experience running in — and winning — the most competitive elections in North Carolina, one thing has always been true: I couldn’t do it alone.
I’ve been reminded of that over and over in the last weeks. It’s been nearly a month since we launched our campaign for the U.S. Senate, and we’ve received more than 47,800 online donations from folks who are stepping up to join our fight. I’m humbled and deeply grateful — but I have to ask for more.
As we approach our August end-of-month fundraising deadline, I’m hoping we can get that number of online donations up to 50,000.
John, if you haven’t yet had a chance to pitch in, the best time to make your first contribution is right now. Please, donate anything that’s right for you before our deadline on Sunday. Just click here to give.
I got my start in politics running for office right where I grew up: Nash County. I ran because I thought I could help make things better for folks in my hometown of Nashville, in Rocky Mount, and beyond. And I won that first race because I was fortunate to have the help and support of people who knew me, who believed in me, and who trusted me to represent them.
In the years since, I’ve done my best to earn that kind of belief and trust from people across North Carolina’s other 99 counties. Now, I need you to join our fight, too.
This is the toughest fight we’ve faced yet, John. But I know we can win if we do it together.
I’m personally asking you to pitch in before Sunday’s end-of-August deadline. Any amount you can give will go a long way.
