We were fools to think Trump’s administration would leave this alone. For the first six months of Trump’s presidency, the Solar for All program — $7 billion in grants to help states, nonprofits, and U.S. territories bring solar energy to low-income communities — managed to escape his wrath.
Not anymore.
Last week, Trump’s EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced they are terminating the program entirely. His excuse? That the GOP’s “megabill” somehow “eliminated” it along with other initiatives under the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.
Let’s be clear: this program was about helping lower-income families access cheaper, cleaner solar power. By canceling it, Trump’s EPA is directly raising energy prices on poor Americans. That’s not just cruel — it’s political malpractice.
Every time Trump kneecaps clean energy, the people who suffer most are working families who can least afford it. That’s the reality of his fossil-fuel agenda.
The choice in 2026 is stark: Trump’s agenda that raises costs and locks in pollution, or a clean energy America that lowers energy bills, cuts emissions, and builds opportunity.
Together, we can stop Trump’s political malpractice and ensure clean energy is accessible for all Americans, not just the wealthy who can afford it.
