A retired math teacher in the Bay Area.

A plumber in Baton Rouge.

A piano tuner in a suburb of Milwaukee.

From all walks of life and every corner of America, more than 6,000 people have donated online so far this year to support the work you and Public Citizen are doing together.

The average contribution is about $41.

Some people give $5.

Some give $5,000.

It all — every dollar — makes this shared project we call Public Citizen stronger.

But right now — because of the coronavirus and the resulting economic uncertainty — we’re looking at a shortfall just as we’re about to close the books on the first half of the year. (That’s not just an expression — our accounting team is very busy these days.)

If we can’t make up some ground by midnight tomorrow, it will impact what we’re able to do throughout the second half of the year, which of course includes what may well be the most consequential presidential election in any of our lifetimes.

Please, if you can, donate today.

A group of benefactors will match anything you contribute dollar-for-dollar — up to $50,000 — but only until midnight tomorrow.

That means if we can raise $50,000 by midnight tomorrow, we’ll earn another $50,000 in matching funds.

Contribute now.

Thank you!

In unity,

- Robert Weissman, President of Public Citizen

P.S. If you've donated recently, thank you. At such a critical moment — and with the dollar-for-dollar match in effect only until midnight tomorrow — I’m hoping I can ask you to dig a little deeper and make another contribution if you’re able. Either way, my thanks again for your ongoing support of this shared project we call Public Citizen.
