Friend,

The Supreme Court just announced its decision in June Medical Services v. Russo, striking down a medically unjustified Louisiana law requiring abortion providers to have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of their clinic.

This moment is worthy of a sigh of relief, especially as access to abortion care is already strained, and even more so as we fight a global pandemic.

While the status quo for abortion access is temporarily safe, we never should have gotten this close. Louisiana's admitting privileges law was part of a coordinated, decades-long campaign waged by anti-abortion extremists to destroy abortion access. And it won't stop here.

Although we won this battle, this fight is not over: anti-abortion forces will continue to bring their attacks to the Supreme Court, wreaking havoc on abortion access across the country.

We must continue to take up this fight at the state and local levels, working everywhere possible to protect and advance access to abortion care.

Support this fight at the state and local levels - bit.ly/NIRHJune

In 2020, NIRH and the NIRH Action Fund will continue to work alongside our state and local partners to ensure our elected officials support reproductive freedom and pass proactive protections enshrining abortion access into law. Together, we can set the stage for continued momentum on the side of reproductive health, rights, and justice.

Join us now to help continue the fight for reproductive freedom in this critical moment: donate before our fiscal year ends tomorrow at midnight.

In solidarity,

Andrea Miller
President
NIRH & NIRH Action Fund
