It’s back-to-school time, and I want to send my best wishes to all the students, parents, and educators gearing up for a new year!

As a parent with two children enrolled in our great Maryland public schools, I know how exciting and sometimes stressful this time of year can be. Whether it's shopping for supplies, adjusting to new routines, or simply preparing for the year ahead, there's a lot on our minds.
But while we celebrate the start of a new school year, we also face uncertainty. Federal funding cuts and education policy changes are threatening the resources our schools and educators rely on to provide the best for our students. These cuts jeopardize the programs and support that are so crucial to ensuring our kids get the education they deserve.
Throughout these challenges, I am even more grateful to all the educators and school staff members who continue to make an incredible impact on our students every day. Their dedication shapes the future of Maryland, and I appreciate everything they do.
I’m wishing you all the very best for the school year ahead! Together, we’ll keep pushing for the resources and support that our schools need to give every child the future they deserve.
My best,
