John, it's Lois Frankel.
Every Women's Equality Day, I always take time to reflect on how the women's rights movement has evolved:
⌛ Before my time, activists like Susan B. Anthony fought for me to have a say in my future, even if she couldn't live to see it.
🪡 When I grew up, there were very strong stereotypes about what women and men could do: women were still expected to get married, have children, and stay in the home (but I did my best to break the mold as a tomboy).
🤝 After I graduated in the 70s, I became an organizer here in South Florida, fighting to establish and defend reproductive rights for all women.
👭 Now I serve as Chair Emerita of the Democratic Women’s Caucus, fighting for equal pay and access to reproductive healthcare, eliminating sexual harassment, and making sure women and girls have equal access to the tools needed to succeed so all of our communities can thrive.
But just like there were folks who didn't want these advancements to happen in the first place, Trump and his MAGA cronies are steadily trying to undo all the progress we've made.
His Supreme Court has already overturned Roe v. Wade , and now he's fighting to draw progressive women like me out of our districts to protect his extremist agenda. Today, will you make a donation to help me continue fighting to defend ALL of our rights in Congress? [[link removed]]
