With 6.5 million children forced to flee their homes, Sudan is now experiencing the largest child displacement crisis in the world. Conflict has devastated families:
-
25 million people — half the population — are facing extreme levels of hunger.
-
5 million children and mothers are facing acute malnutrition.
-
Over 1 million children in Sudan are at high risk of cholera – a preventable and treatable disease – and hundreds of young lives have already been lost due to the ongoing outbreak.
Save the Children is providing shelter, food, safe water, child protection services and education in crisis-affected areas. Last year, we reached 3.1 million people – including 1.7 million children – in the region. |
