Today, older Americans are losing faith in the dependability and stability of the Social Security Administration (SSA). That’s because there has been tremendous harm done by the Trump Administration’s reckless activities at the agency which have led to staffing shortages, longer wait times and growing backlogs of claims.

As you know, Social Security is a critical earned benefit that American workers pay into with every paycheck.

Part of this contribution is intended to cover the cost of administering the Social Security program, so that workers can fully access their earned benefits when they are ready to claim them. Since the beginning of the Trump Administration, Elon Musk, along with his so-called “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE), have wreaked havoc at SSA, triggering chaos and confusion for America’s seniors and their families.

That’s why the National Committee wants to know:

Have you or a friend or family member had trouble accessing customer service at the Social Security Administration — either in person, online or on the phone?

Under the influence of President Trump, Musk and DOGE, SSA leadership has taken several extreme steps to downsize the agency and undermine its ability to properly serve Social Security beneficiaries. Yet, the Trump Administration claims they are rooting our waste, fraud and abuse.

That’s why the National Committee needs to know how these cuts impact American workers and retirees like you. Your voice matters!
