For 30 years, Animal Outlook has been challenging the status quo for animals trapped in industrial agriculture. As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, we're proud of how our legal advocacy has exposed truth and inspired change for millions of animals.
When corporations use deceptive marketing to hide factory farming's cruel reality, we take action. Our legal team strategically challenges animal agribusiness from misleading marketing to unfair business practices.
Your support has made landmark victories possible. When Kroger's Simple Truth chicken products falsely claimed birds were "raised in a humane environment," we backed a class-action lawsuit that forced change. The October 2014 settlement required Kroger to remove these deceptive claims, preventing consumers from being misled about how these animals are treated.
Similarly, when the egg industry stamped "Animal Care Certified" on cartons while hens suffered in battery cages, our comprehensive campaign led to a groundbreaking victory. In September 2005, the Federal Trade Commission banned this deceptive logo from egg cartons nationwide — a decision covered by The New York Times, Washington Post, and other major outlets.
These victories aren't just about labeling — they expose the fundamental humane washing at the heart of animal agriculture. With each legal challenge, we chip away at the industry's ability to hide behind misleading marketing.
As we mark 30 years of fighting for animals, our legal advocacy program needs your support to challenge the status quo. Will you make a special anniversary donation today to power our legal advocacy? Every contribution helps build stronger cases and secure more victories for animals.
