Maryland Democratic Gov. Wes Moore's needling tactics have clearly struck several nerves, and the MAGA cult leader is responding in predictable, pathetic fashion. Yesterday he threatened to take back federal funds allocated for reconstructing the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which was struck and felled by a massive, Singapore-owned container ship in March 2024, killing six workers, closing the Port of Baltimore, and snarling traffic along the East Coast. "I gave Wes Moore a lot of money to fix his demolished bridge," Trump thumb-smashed on his Truth Social platform. "I will now have to rethink that decision." Couple quick things: Donald Trump didn't "give" Wes Moore a dime. Congress passed a funding bill — signed by President Biden in late 2024 — that fully funded the reconstruction of the bridge, which was crossed annually by more that 12 milllion vehicles before its collapse. Donald can kick and scream and edit himself into historical timelines like a bad Forest Gump schtick, but facts are facts, and that ship, pun intended, has sailed.

Higginbotham implored the former TV news anchor and first-term congressman to study the Constitution and "get Trump out of office." Higginbotham also spoke of his own struggles, saying he was about to lose his farm, and urged Alford to increase taxes on large corporations and the wealthy. Fat chance of that happening, of course. Alford, who enthusiastically supported the MAGA cult leader's big bill of bullshit and its historic tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy, famously told fired federal workers earlier this year not to worry about mass layoffs and having their lives completely upended because "God has a plan and purpose for your life." Incredibly comforting stuff from a man currently collecting a $174,000 annual salary courtesy of American taxpayers.

"I think we’re gonna have some information on that maybe soon, because I think, you know, Department of Defense, we won the World War I, World War II. It was called the Department of War. And to me, that’s really what it is. Defense is a part of that. But I have a feeling we’re gonna be changing." When reminded by a reporter that such a name change would require an act of Congress, the wannabe dictator responded like a wannabe dictator, stating, "We’re just gonna do it. I’m sure Congress will go along if we need that. I don’t think we even need that." Uh, yeah, you do.
