Dear Friend,
I write to you from Gaza, where every day I meet mothers arriving at our clinics with children who have nothing to eat.
Ilham is one of them. She came holding her baby, Nour, who is just 10 months old. All three of her children are suffering from hunger and health issues, but as the youngest, Nour is the most vulnerable. “Seeing my daughter hungry and having no food to give her breaks my heart. I feel powerless,” Ilham said.
As a lactating mother, Ilham’s own health has been severely affected by the lack of food, which in turn has impacted her ability to nourish her baby.
