Friend,
Working families in Connecticut are about to face higher healthcare costs due to President Trump’s major tax reform. It didn’t get much attention, but tucked into his "Big, Beautiful Bill" is the elimination of a critical tax credit that reduces the price of healthcare for those who purchase insurance through AccessHealth CT.
AccessHealth CT was created after we passed the Affordable Care Act, and it plays a critical role in helping Connecticut residents find affordable insurance options. The online marketplace is especially crucial for small businesses that struggle with the cost of keeping their employees insured.
Unfortunately, Trump's elimination of the enhanced premium tax credits will force folks to pay $1,700 more on average [[link removed]] for their health insurance. Over 135,000 people will lose at least some financial support, and about 27,000 will no longer be eligible for any financial assistance.
While Trump is desperate to change the topic, I’m staying laser-focused on how this Administration is making healthcare unaffordable for small businesses and working families.
