Americares continues to support our trusted partners to help provide aid to people enduring unimaginable hardship. In Gaza City, we’re funding a mother and child clinic that provides lifesaving medical care for 4,000 displaced women and children monthly, including treatment for acute malnutrition, breastfeeding counseling and mental health support. Over 500,000 people in Gaza are facing starvation and death while a blockade prevents truckloads of food, medicine and relief supplies from entering Gaza. Already, 300 people have starved to death, including 117 children, according to the Ministry of Health. And another 1 million people are on the brink of famine and facing very high acute malnutrition and risk of death.

Americares has provided 35 tons of essential medicine and medical supplies to Gaza since October 2023, including enough medicine to fill more than 350,000 prescriptions, supported medical care for over 43,000 patients and mental health programs reaching 21,000 people in Gaza.
