John, have you seen this picture of me?

At the time, 10-year-old Colin had no idea he'd one day play in the NFL, work for the first Black President of the United States, serve in Congress, or have two beautiful boys of his own. He certainly didn’t think he would make history as the first member of Congress to take paternity leave when those boys were born!

And I'm positive he couldn't have imagined he'd one day be running for Senate with a chance to become the first Black Senator from Texas.

But that's where we are, John. And what's even more amazing: We have a very real shot at winning and flipping Texas blue!

No Democrat has led in the polls this early in a Texas Senate race in a generation.

But the kid in that photo had a lot of help along the way – and just like him, I'm relying on a strong community to help me out now. My Republican opponents have raised millions to defeat me, and I don't take corporate PAC money, so I'm counting on folks like you to help me hold on to our lead and WIN.
