In January, I promised to be a Senator of action.

As August winds to a close, I'm proud to say I'm keeping that promise. I'm focused on the unglamorous kitchen-table issues that don’t often make headlines, but which impact us in personal and profound ways.

Equal pay for Black women
Renewed trust between law enforcement and the public
Better healthcare access for first responders and military families
Well-maintained affordable housing

I’m proud of what we’ve been able to achieve together in this chaotic environment.

September will bring its own share of crises and challenges, but I’ll be out every day, on Capitol Hill and in our communities, doing the real and unglamorous work of public service.
