So many people want peace in Ukraine, but it can’t come at the cost of Ukraine’s sovereignty. It definitely can’t give Putin the time he needs to rebuild the Russian military and prepare for his next war.

JD Vance Tweet

Yeah, this is bullsh*t. JD is actively trying to rewrite history here, just like Trump is by censoring the Smithsonian museums.

FDR didn’t roll out the welcome mat for Hitler and Tojo.

World War 2 ended with the unconditional surrender of Germany and Japan. Germany was occupied. Hitler shot himself in a bunker. Two nuclear bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Major cities in both nations were razed to the ground.

It was the most costly war in human history. Tens of millions died, including 450,000 Americans. An unspeakable tragedy. But negotiating peace with evil men like Hitler would’ve only enabled more war, more suffering, and more death.

People did try negotiating to prevent that war.

Neville Chamberlain negotiated away German speaking territory in Czechoslovakia to appease Hitler, calling it “peace in our time.” Sounds a lot like forcing Ukraine to surrender “Russian speaking” territory to Putin, doesn’t it?

Less than a year after that negotiation Hitler invaded the rest of Czechoslovakia, and we all know the rest.

I’m not saying we should never negotiate. We should. But Putin only understands force. He has shown us who he is, time and time again. His goal is the resurrection of the USSR and the subjugation of all of Europe. Appeasing Putin today could very well lead to the next world war.

What we have to do now is speak with one voice, directly to Trump and Vance and all the rest of them. So many people want peace in Ukraine, but it can’t come at the cost of Ukraine’s sovereignty. It definitely can’t give Putin the time he needs to rebuild the Russian military and prepare for his next war.

I’m betting you agree with me on that, John. If you do, I’m asking you to add your voice and reiterate your support for Ukraine. It might seem like a small act, but when you join millions of others things like this become impossible to ignore.
