Even though the House is in recess right now, there’s a lot going on – and it all ties back to a simple question:

Whose side is the Trump administration really on?

I’m seeing the impact of bad decisions every day. Families in CA-49 are being squeezed from every direction, while national Republicans push policies that only make it worse:

Health care: Trump’s “Big Ugly” spending bill slashes $880 BILLION from Medicaid. That’s not “accountability” – that’s sabotage, and it will rip away much-needed health coverage from millions.

Veterans’ care: VA doctor and nurse shortages are at crisis levels. Yet Trump cut 30,000 VA jobs, leaving our heroes with longer waits and fewer options.

Rising costs: New tariffs have pushed prices up nearly 2% – that’s a $2,400 hit per family. Food, clothing, electricity and more essentials are more expensive. Trump’s policies are driving it, and working families pay the price.

Energy policy: Instead of investing in clean energy to lower bills, Trump’s agenda boosts exports and cuts household energy assistance. That’s not helping families – it’s driving up costs.

Democracy itself: From voter suppression to purging civil servants to activating the National Guard from Southern California to DC, the Trump administration is rigging the rules for power – not solving real problems.

These issues directly affect our neighbors, economy, and future. I want to make sure I’m representing your priorities as I prepare to go back to bat for you in Washington.
