Governor DeWine, Lt. Governor Tressel Announce 4 Projects Set to Create 233 Jobs, More Than $287 Million in Investments
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik today announced the approval of four projects that will create 233 new jobs and retain nearly 600 jobs statewide.
During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. The projects are expected to result in more than $20 million in new payroll and generate over $287 million in investments across Ohio.
Ajinomoto Health & Nutrition North America, Inc., city of Akron (Summit County), expects to create 23 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $1.3 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Akron. AHN develops and manufactures broths and soups for traditional and upscale grocery stores, food service providers, and restaurants. The proposed project involves the expansion of AHN’s current facility and additional machinery and equipment to meet increased product demand. TCA approved a 1.068- percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.
Danone North America Public Benefit Corporation, village of Minster (Auglaize County), expects to create 30 full-time-equivalent positions, generating $1.95 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s expansion project in Minster. Danone produces and sells yogurt worldwide. The proposed project includes the establishment of a new lean manufacturing line for specialty yogurt production to facilitate growth in North America. TCA approved a 1.225- percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.
Buckeye Construction & Restoration, LTD., city of Wellston (Jackson County), expects to create 40 full-time-equivalent positions, generating more than $3.3 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s redevelopment project in Wellston. Buckeye Construction & Restoration is a specialty construction and construction management firm, focused on historic preservation, revitalization, structural reinforcement, facility upgrades, and other services. The proposed project includes the expansion of its current headquarters to accommodate growth. TCA approved a 1.334- percent, seven-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.
Cencora, city of Harrison (Hamilton County), expects to create 140 full-time-equivalent positions, generating $14 million in new annual payroll as a result of the company’s new location in Harrison. Cencora is a wholesale pharmaceutical drug distribution company. The proposed project includes the establishment of a new highly automated distribution center with cold storage. TCA approved a 1.823- percent, nine-year Job Creation Tax Credit for the project.
