Friends,

Over ten years ago, Congress passed the Affordable Care Act. Republicans have made it their mission right from the beginning to repeal it. Why? It raised taxes on the wealthiest Americans and proved that social welfare programs can be successful at relatively modest prices.

Republicans gave up on repealing the Affordable Care Act through legislation in 2017, and in 2018 when Democrats took control of the House, we thought the matter was finally settled. This was a huge relief for families like mine that navigate the American healthcare system with chronic conditions.

But Republicans and the Trump Administration weren’t done with the Affordable Care Act. Trump has been working to dismantle the Affordable Care Act through the court system, and he’s dangerously close to being successful. If the court sides with Trump and the GOP, 20 million people will lose their healthcare in a pandemic and families like mine, who rely on the Affordable Care Act’s protections for people with pre-existing conditions, will be priced out of healthcare or lose everything trying to access it. Republicans have had plenty of time to come up with their own plan for healthcare, and they haven't. Now, Trump is even walking back on his campaign promise to protect pre-existing conditions.

We can’t let that happen. My opponent is another rank and file Republican who supports an Affordable Care Act repeal. Our healthcare is not safe in his hands. I'm fighting for Medicare for All, and that fight starts with protecting the Affordable Care Act.

Tomorrow at midnight is my campaign's most important fundraising deadline yet - our numbers will become public for the world to see. Can you chip in before tomorrow's deadline to help me protect the ACA and make sure we send a powerful message about the grassroots support of our campaign? ([link removed])

Thanks,

Kim
