Hi John,
You still have time to fill out the government’s prebudget consultation – but not for long!
The government is running a survey asking Canadians what they think the next federal budget should focus on. It’s open until this Thursday, Aug. 28.
We wanted to make sure you had a chance to fill this out – otherwise, it’ll be filled up by special interest groups looking for their next government handout.
You can take the consultation here: https://www.canada.ca/en/department-finance/programs/consultations/2025/pre-budget-consultations-2025.html
Don’t get bogged down by the government’s obvious bias because there’s a great workaround for that.
Just look for the “other” option on questions. That’s where you can write whatever you want. Keep it short and respectful, but also loud and clear.
They might be wanting to hear that you want more money spent on corporate welfare or funding the CBC. But you can tell them to scrap wasteful spending, pay down the debt, and cut taxes.
Governments rely on these surveys so they can pretend that they’re doing what the people asked for. You can cut through the spin and show them what you really want.
It’s a short survey. You can fill it out here: https://www.canada.ca/en/department-finance/programs/consultations/2025/pre-budget-consultations-2025.html
Thank you for standing up for taxpayers.
Sincerely,
Ethan Fisher
