Gun grabbers know they can’t win through stand-alone legislation or through the courts right now.
So they’re attacking your Second Amendment rights through taxes.
U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) wants to raise taxes on firearms – so the American people won’t be able to afford them.
Twice in one month, Murphy submitted amendments to drastically raise taxes on firearms: first in an appropriations act (H.R. 3944), and now in the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) of 2026 (S. 2296).
Sen. Murphy's NDAA amendment would skyrocket the National Firearms Act (NFA) tax to a whopping $4,709 per firearm you purchase. And it would also impose a new $55 tax on certain firearms.
Sen. Murphy would punish law-abiding gun owners, and the firearm industry, with taxes that would price out everyday Americans from lawful firearm ownership.
That's one method the anti-gun lobby has always employed to attack gun rights: make gun ownership too expensive for the average American.
If Sen. Murphy were to get his way, Second Amendment rights would become a right in name only. It would “only” be for the elite few who could afford the punitive tax. It would be “only” for those the government deems are affluent enough to afford it, and it would “only” be a right that would be accessible until the next time gun control elites raise the price and the bar once again.

I wish I could tell you with Republicans in charge, our gun rights are safe and sound, at least for now.
But unfortunately, anti-gun legislation passed the U.S. Congress under Joe Biden with Republican help . . . Republicans like Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) who remain in Congress today.
You and I need to make certain our Senators know we are watching them closely. Tell your Senators to OPPOSE the Murphy Gun Tax amendment to the NDAA.
