It’s been just over 50 days since Trump’s so-called “One Big Beautiful Bill” was signed into law. Around here, we call it what it really is: the One Big UGLY Bill.

Why? Because while Republicans never stop talking about “fiscal responsibility” and “lowering the deficit,” this bill adds more than $2 trillion to our national debt. And it doesn’t lift a finger to help working families.

Instead, the OBBB is a massive giveaway to the ultra-wealthy and big corporations. Tax loopholes for billionaires. Handouts to Trump’s donors and friends. Benefits for hedge funds, oil companies, and pharmaceutical giants — while the rest of us are left footing the bill.

You would think if Republicans were so eager to spend, they’d invest in things that actually benefit the American people — like lowering the cost of prescription drugs, investing in schools, repairing infrastructure, or protecting Social Security and Medicare. But this is the GOP we’re talking about. They’ve made it clear: their priority is padding the pockets of the rich, not serving the people they swore an oath to represent.
