You may have seen that California Governor Gavin Newsom succeeded in calling for a special election to redraw the state’s maps and defend fair representation.
Here’s the information you deserve to know:
Donald Trump and his allies are seeing the polls, and they’re hearing the anger from people all over the country. They know their agenda is historically unpopular, and so they’re trying to rig the 2026 elections in their favor.
That’s why Republicans in Texas just passed a gerrymandered congressional map that could give them FIVE extra seats. And it’s why Republicans in states like Indiana and Missouri are looking to follow suit.
But Democrats are fighting back.
In California, Governor Newsom just signed the Election Rigging Response Act, in an effort to level the playing field and help make sure voters determine who controls the House of Representatives — not Donald Trump.
We can’t stand back and watch our democracy disappear district by district and state by state. We all have a role to play in fighting back.
