Hey John,
Kate here, Elaine’s Finance Director. In just a few hours, I’ll be giving Elaine a call to go over our numbers ahead of our critical FEC end-of-quarter deadline, and I don’t want to give her bad news.
But right now, we’re falling short of where we need to be. We still need 124 grassroots donors to pitch in before the deadline hits tomorrow -- can you chip in right now so that I can let Elaine know that we’re on track to meeting our fundraising goal in time?
Raising enough money to compete in one of the eight most competitive races in the entire country is a huge task.
Especially since we know that Elaine’s Republican opponent, former Congressman Scott Taylor, will have wealthy GOP donors and dark money Republican groups to fuel his campaign.
We don’t have much time left before tomorrow’s public FEC end-of-quarter deadline, and if we don’t reach Elaine’s fundraising goal -- right-wing groups determined to flip VA-02 back to red will take notice.
