Protecting our Coast

At both the state and federal levels, I have championed our coastal restoration and hurricane protection efforts because I know how crucial these projects are to protecting lives and America’s energy and national security. 

In President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, I secured language to raise the cap for revenue sharing dollars Louisiana is eligible to receive, which will result in more than $500 million in new funding for our state’s coastal restoration efforts over the next decade. Recently, the Department of the Interior implemented the changes to the revenue sharing program, cementing this win for Louisiana.

Meeting with Jefferson Parish Business Leaders

Recently, I sat down with local leaders in Jefferson Parish to share an update on my work in Washington and discuss the One Big Beautiful Bill. Without this legislation, the average Louisiana taxpayer would have seen a 24% tax increase, more than 500,000 Louisiana families would have seen their Child Tax Credit cut in half, more than 250,000 small businesses would have faced a 43.4% tax rate, and those relying on overtime and tips would continue to pay taxes on that income.

Overwhelmingly, I heard how the One Big Beautiful Bill will help hardworking Louisiana families and small businesses by lowering inflation and keeping tax rates low and competitive while allowing Louisianans to keep more of their hard-earned money.
