[ [link removed] ]Ayanna Pressley for Congress

If
Republicans won’t fight for their own constituents, I will.

Last night I joined a town hall in Glens Falls, NY — Congresswoman Elise
Stefanik’s district — to connect with voters about the GOP’s harmful
policies and how we can fight back.

I called Congresswoman Stefanik to invite her to join us, but I never
heard back. Her constituents were there, begging her to do the bare
minimum and answer them.

Well if she can’t be bothered to show up, I will. The American people
deserve leaders who give a damn about them. I’m not here to play party
politics or sell out my constituents for a pat on the head from a wannabe
dictator.

[ [link removed] ]Democrats need to show up everywhere — even in Republican districts —
and fight for the people. That’s exactly what I’m doing. But as a
completely grassroots-funded campaign, I need your help. Will you help
fuel our fight for the people?

Republicans in Congress like Stefanik have pushed policies that betray our
working families, our veterans, our seniors, our disabled, our children,
and future generations — all to hand massive tax breaks to corporations
and the ultra-wealthy.

That’s what our town hall was about: Calling out the unforgivable impacts
of the GOP’s tax scam, centering the voices of our neighbors, and
declaring not just that we’re fighting back against injustice, but for a
democracy where everyone thrives.

We didn’t go to Stefanik’s district just to say “we ain’t them.” This is
not a political game. We’re demonstrating what it means to put people
first. To actually do the job, not just try to keep it. To present an
affirmative vision for what we’re fighting for: A country where families
can afford to dream, where consumers have more rights than corporations,
and where our freedom is actually free.

That’s how we’re going to get the gavel back — by telling people what
we’ll do with it.

[ [link removed] ]I’m doing all that I can to mitigate the harm of this administration
and get Democrats back in power. Showing up in red districts and
connecting with unheard communities is a powerful way to do this. Will you
pitch in
$25 or
anything you can to power this important work?

In solidarity,

Ayanna
