This is a different email than I usually send, but it’s important.
Before I pull back the curtain and explain why I decided to run for Congress, will you chip in $3 today?

I’m doing this because I believe in the power of community. As a native of downstate Illinois, I know that our communities thrive when the middle class is strong.
My grandfather was a union painter, and my grandmother was a public school teacher. They inspired my life’s work of championing working families just like mine.
From when I hit the campaign trail in 2021, to coming back home from Washington today, I’ve met thousands of folks with similar backgrounds who are struggling to make ends meet with the rising cost of living.
The American Dream has become out of reach for many in Central and Southern Illinois. Before Congress, I fought for workers’ rights and led the effort to raise Illinois’ minimum wage to $15 an hour. I decided to run for this seat to make an even bigger impact in the communities that I love.
I was proud to flip IL-13 from red to blue in 2022 and become the first woman to represent this seat in Congress. We created a strong coalition of working families, farmers, veterans, and more to defeat a self-funded Republican.
Despite facing tough re-election battles ever since, it hasn’t slowed me down. I’m in Congress to advocate for our communities and make life better for working people.
If you’re with me, $3 or any amount would make an immediate impact in our re-election race. With control of the House majority separated by only three seats, the outcome of this race will make a difference.
