John,

Dedicated workers have spent decades at the Social Security Administration to make sure that your benefits are paid in full and on time.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk pushed out 7,000 of them. Field offices have lost 20% of their staff, and wait times are skyrocketing. We can reverse this assault―but only if we all raise our voices.

Now, there’s a bill called the Protect America’s Workforce Act that would undo Trump’s executive order targeting the workers at the Social Security Administration, the VA, the EPA, national parks, and more. SSA workers are critical to ensuring every Social Security check makes it to the right place at the right time. Without them, the system could collapse.

This bill has support from a bipartisan majority in the House of Representatives. If it comes to the floor, it will pass. But Speaker Mike Johnson is blocking that vote to protect Trump from embarrassment.

That’s why the bill’s co-sponsors Jared Golden (D-ME) and Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) are circulating a discharge petition that would force Speaker Johnson to hold a vote. They need 218 signatures on the discharge petition. There are 222 co-sponsors of the bill. We can do this.

Send a message directly to your Representative in the House and urge them to sign the discharge petition for the Protect America’s Workforce Act and protect Social Security!
