Weâre so excited to share something special exclusively with you! Today at 12:00 pm CT, Soldiersâ Angels will premiere the highlight video from our very first monthly Military & Veteran Food Distribution in Washington, D.C.
This powerful video takes you behind the scenes as volunteers unload trucks, pack groceries, and serve hundreds of Service Members, Veterans, and Military families. Youâll hear moving stories directly from those we support, and be inspired by partners and leaders who joined us for this milestone event to speak about the importance of tackling food insecurity in the Military and Veteran community.
Youâll hear from:
CSM Reginald L.C. Smith, Headquarters Battalion, United States Army Garrison Fort Belvoir, Virginia
Kathy Roth-Douquet, President and CEO, Blue Star Families
Kim Mitchell, Navy Veteran & Former Senior Advisor and VSO Liaison, Department of Veterans Affairs
Paul Shute, Former Assistant Deputy Under Secretary of Veterans Affairs
And more!!
As we head into Hunger Action Month this September, this video is a powerful reminder of how much we can accomplish when we work together.
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsor, Lockheed Martin, our dedicated partnersâCapital Area Food Bank and Blue Star Familiesâand our incredible donors and supporters like you, we were able to make a lasting impact in Washington, D.C. With your continued support, we can do even more to fight hunger among Veterans and Military families across the country.

Soldiersâ Angels recently served up smiles, connection, and comfort food to nearly 60 at-risk and homeless Veterans at the Houston VAâs Community Resource and Referral Center. Thanks to the generosity of Houston Dynamo and Dash Charities and the helping hands of a dedicated mother-and-son duo from the Young Menâs Service League, Veterans enjoyed brisket-stuffed baked potatoes from Rudyâs BBQ, sweet treats, and plenty of heartfelt conversation.
Starting in September, these luncheons will expand to the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of each monthâdoubling the opportunities to show up for those who served. Special thanks to Site Coordinator Jasmine, who works closely with local restaurants, the VA CRRC team, and volunteers to make every gathering unforgettable.
Together, we remind Veterans: You are seen, appreciated, and never alone.
Honor Their Service This Labor Day
This Labor Day, while many enjoy time with family, thousands of deployed Service Members remain far from homeâtraining, standing watch, and answering the call of duty. Honor their dedication with a simple reminder theyâre not forgotten: a fresh cup of coffee from home.

âď¸ Beating the Heat, Serving with Heart
All eight of our Military & Veteran Food Distributions pushed through the dog days of summerâand our incredible volunteers never wavered. Through blazing heat, pouring rain, sudden storms, and plenty of sweat, they showed up month after month to ensure thousands of Service Members, Veterans, and Military families received the groceries they need.
A huge thank you to our volunteers for all of their amazing work through the summerâand always. We have more inspiring photos from these events than we could ever fit into a newsletter, but we invite you to visit our Flickr gallery [[link removed]] and scroll through the moments of connection, gratitude, and service that made this summerâand the entire yearâunforgettable.
