Breaking news, ICYMI: reproductive freedom is under attack at the Supreme Court.
We’ll start with the good news. Five of the nine Supreme Court justices voted to strike down a clearly unconstitutional Louisiana law that would have shut down abortion clinics across the state. The decision is clearly right on the law.
But as with everything concerning Brett Kavanaugh and the Supreme Court, there’s bad news too. Brett Kavanaugh, Neil Gorsuch, and two other Republican-appointed justices just voted against a key part of the constitutional right to abortion. Trump’s justices are following through on his commitment to end the promise of Roe v. Wade.
Brett Kavanaugh is a threat to reproductive rights. And if the Senate confirms another Trump justice, even more of what we care about could be at risk.
We cannot allow Brett Kavanaugh and the other Republican-appointed justices to continue waging war on women’s right to control their own bodies.
