John,
After weeks of fierce opposition from state Democrats, Texas Republicans just officially approved Trump’s power grab and passed a new rigged Congressional map.1
It’s an absolute outrage. But Texas House Democrats, who fought valiantly to block the map under threat of arrest and prosecution, have also shined a massive spotlight on Trump’s strategy for the 2026 midterms: attacking our right to vote.
Trump and the GOP know how unpopular they are — and they are TERRIFIED of losing power. It’s why Trump telegraphed even more attacks on vote by mail across the country just a few days ago.2
They know that millions of working families are suffering because of their policies. They know their agenda is a disaster that will only grow worse for voters. That’s why they’re trying right now to suppress our votes, rig election maps, and hold onto Congressional seats next year any way they can.
Taking on these tactics will be an uphill battle. And we know other Republican states are going to try and follow Texas’ lead. But we also can see how weak this regime actually is — and how powerful we can be when we come together to fight back.
We’re not backing down one inch in our fight to take back power from Republicans in Congress and elect a wave of working class champions across the country. Can you chip in today to help us fight back against these attacks and take back Congress in 2026?

Trump is waging an all-out attack on working people. These attempts to rig Congressional maps and attack our right to vote are all part of it.
Gutting Medicaid and SNAP wasn’t enough — now he is bulldozing the will of the voters and trying to take away the voices of millions.
And as election season draws closer, and Republicans find it harder and harder to run away from their disastrous policies, they’ll grow even more desperate to keep themselves in power by any and all means.
Texas is just the beginning. Rigging election maps and trying to silence voters is their long-term plan across the country. And we’re going to have to fight tooth and nail and reach even more working-class voters if we’re going to defeat them.
Your contribution — of any amount — will help WFP fight back against Trump’s attacks on working people, reach more voters, and elect more working class champions to Congress in 2026.
In solidarity,
Team WFP
