Email from Rep. Tenney Congresswoman Tenney's Weekly Newsletter Have Questions? Contact Me Here Supporting American and Family Values This week, I released my Supporting Commonsense American and Family Values Plan, a comprehensive initiative to protect life, defend women’s rights, safeguard children, dismantle radical ideologies, and stand proudly with the American flag. For too long, the Biden-Harris administration has pushed a dangerous agenda, promoting abortion on demand, erasing biological differences between men and women, advancing harmful gender surgeries on children, and wasting taxpayer dollars on divisive Critical Race Theory and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs. My plan restores pro-life, pro-family, and pro-freedom principles that strengthen communities and uphold the Constitution. Working alongside President Trump, I am advancing legislation to ensure women’s sports are protected under Title IX, prohibit taxpayer dollars from funding abortions, ban dangerous gender procedures on children, and dismantle racist DEI initiatives that weaken our institutions. This plan also defends the unborn, honors the American flag, and reinforces the timeless values that built our nation. Together, we are standing up to the radical Left’s agenda and ensuring these commonsense American values endure for generations to come. Protecting Our Second Amendment My 2025 Second Amendment Protection Plan builds on my long record of standing up for law-abiding gun owners and defending our Constitutional rights. During my time in the New York State Assembly, I opposed the unconstitutional SAFE Act in Albany, and in Congress, I led the amicus brief that helped secure the landmark NYSRPA v. Bruen decision at the Supreme Court. I have fought every step of the way to stop Democrats from eroding the right to keep and bear arms. My new plan combats Governor Hochul’s radical anti-Second Amendment agenda, protects the privacy and due process of gun owners, and ensures that sportsmen, hunters, veterans, and law-abiding citizens across our nation can continue to exercise their rights without government infringement. I will never waver in protecting this sacred freedom and preserving it for the American people. To read my full Second Amendment Plan, click here. President Trump Leading the Path to Peace in Ukraine President Trump is once again showing the world what real leadership looks like. At the White House, he brought together President Zelensky and top European leaders to chart a path toward peace that protects Ukraine’s sovereignty and puts American interests first. Unlike Biden’s blank checks, Trump left no doubt that America will demand accountability from Europe and that U.S. taxpayers will not foot the bill alone. His peace-through-strength approach has already created momentum for negotiations, with allies aligning around his vision for a lasting and reliable peace. Even Vladimir Putin admitted this war would never have started if Trump had been president. That’s why I have twice nominated President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. In times of crisis, the world turns to him, and he delivers results. Restoring Integrity to America’s Intelligence Community As a member of the House Intelligence Committee, I welcome the fact that President Trump and DNI Tulsi Gabbard are finally cleaning house at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. For years, ODNI became a bloated, partisan bureaucracy that leaked classified information, colluded with Big Tech to censor Americans, and pushed the false Russia collusion narrative. Now, under new leadership, ODNI is being downsized by nearly 40%, saving taxpayers $700 million every year and shutting down politicized offices like the Foreign Malign Influence Center that were weaponized against the American people. At the same time, 37 security clearances have been revoked from officials tied to leaks and the Russiagate hoax, including Obama-era figures like James Clapper. This long-overdue accountability restores integrity to our intelligence community and ensures it serves the American people, not political agendas. As your representative in Congress, my top priority is championing legislative initiatives that benefit you and your families. Each week, I review numerous bills and letters, engaging in thorough discussions with members of our community to determine which actions to support and address your needs. Below are a few bills I recently cosponsored. H.R. 842, the Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act: This bill would create a pathway for Medicare to cover multi-cancer early detection (MCED) tests once approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and demonstrated to have clinical benefit. MCED screenings use innovative blood-based and future test methods to detect dozens of cancers earlier, complementing existing screenings and addressing the fact that only 14% of cancers are currently found through routine screening. By ensuring timely access for seniors that account for more than 70% of cancer diagnoses, the bill is a critical step towards saving lives, reducing treatment costs, and improving outcomes for cancer patients. H.R. 621, the Protecting First Responders from Secondary Exposure Act of 2025: This bill would allow U.S. Department of Justice grants to be used for purchasing containment devices for first responders and training first responders on the use of containment devices to prevent secondary exposure to fentanyl and other potentially lethal substances. Secondary exposure to illicit drugs is a serious issue for first responders doing their job, and exposure can mean serious health consequences, even death. Our country relies on first responders, and this bill provides additional assistance to keep them safe while serving our communities. H.R.2145, the Recycling Infrastructure and Accessibility Act of 2025: This bill would establish an EPA pilot grant program to assist local recycling facilities, reduce disposal burdens, improve services, and allow local communities greater authority over their recycling options. The bill would direct the EPA Administrator to launch the program within 18 months, award competitive grants to local entities, and fund projects such as transfer stations, curbside expansion, reduction of landfill waste projects, and aid in establishing more public-private partnerships. Additionally, this pilot would report on and study increased access and reduced landfill collection and hauling costs, especially for rural communities. H.R. 2562, the District of Columbia One Vote One Choice Act: This bill would amend the Help America Vote Act of 2002 to prohibit the use of ranked choice voting in a District of Columbia election. Not only does rank choice voting cause chaos and confusion, but it also leads to distorted outcomes and results that do not demonstrate the will of the voters. By banning rank-choice voting, we will ensure that federal elections maintain a clear and straightforward process that protects voter confidence and preserves the integrity of our democratic system in the District of Columbia. Recap: Guest Hosting the Bob Lonsberry Show Last week, I had the privilege of guest hosting the Bob Lonsberry Show on WHAM 1180, where I was joined by an outstanding lineup of leaders, including White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin, House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain, Congressman Burgess Owens, Senator George Borrello, Senator Pam Helming, Senate Republican Leader Rob Ortt, and White House Correspondent for the Daily Caller Reagan Reese. Together, we discussed how the One Big Beautiful Bill is delivering the largest middle-class tax cut in history, restoring American energy independence, and securing our borders. We addressed the challenges facing New Yorkers under Governor Hochul’s failed energy policies, which have driven up electricity prices and burdened families and small businesses. Our conversations also focused on supporting law enforcement, empowering local businesses, and restoring commonsense leadership to Albany and Washington alike. I’m appreciative of the meaningful opportunity to bring these issues directly to the people of Upstate New York and to share how we are fighting every day to deliver solutions that put our communities first. Niagara Falls Air Reserve Tour I had the opportunity to visit the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station (NFARS), home to the 914th Air Refueling Wing and the 107th Attack Wing, to learn more about their critical missions and capabilities. The men and women stationed here play an essential role in America’s national defense, from aerial refueling with the KC-135 Stratotanker to supporting our nuclear readiness. With more than 1,400 personnel and a $162.9 million total economic impact, NFARS is not only important to our national security but also to Niagara County as its largest employer. I am grateful to the men and women who briefed us on their operations and to all those who courageously serve our nation while strengthening the community. Roundtable with Foodlink and Faith Leaders This week, I took part in a roundtable with the Foodlink community and faith leaders to discuss how we can better serve those struggling with hunger in our communities. It’s important to have open and honest conversations about solving the myriad of issues facing the most vulnerable in our society. Thank you to all who participated in this spirited and productive discussion and for your commitment to caring for those most in need. Successful Casework Story A Western New York widow of a Korean War Veteran had lost his DD-214 and medals from his service. She contacted our office seeking assistance, and our casework team reached out to the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) to request a copy of his DD-214 and any replacement medals available. That following week, the NPRC sent a digitized copy of the late veteran’s DD-214 and sent replacement medals to the widow: "Claudia, on behalf of my son, my grandson, and me, thank you so much for your help in getting my husband’s documents and replacement medals! Your office went above and beyond expectations to ensure that these medals were delivered in a timely manner. Your staff demonstrated exceptional professionalism and treated my family with respect, honoring my husband’s service and my family in your work. Thank you for being an advocate for our veterans and their families." Internship Opportunities My office is accepting applications for internships in both our Washington, D.C., and district offices. Interns play an important role in serving the people of NY-24, whether it’s assisting constituents, conducting legislative research, or supporting community outreach.
