Friend, it’s Ed.

I’m reaching out today because my friend and colleague Sherrod Brown is running for Senate in Ohio.

I hope you’ll give me just a minute to talk about why I support Sherrod, and why you should consider splitting a contribution to his campaign.

Many of us know Sherrod as a tireless advocate for America’s working class. And his record shows it.

He stood up to Wall Street and saved the pensions of tens-of-thousands of Ohio retirees. He stood up to Big Pharma and passed landmark legislation that caps insulin prices and brings down the cost of prescription drugs.

Sherrod understands that everyone in this country deserves the dignity of a good life, a liveable wage, quality healthcare, and a solid education. Republicans, however, don’t see it that way.

After seven months of full Republican control in Washington, their biggest legislative achievement has been kicking millions of Americans off of their healthcare plans and food assistance so they can pay for humungous tax cuts for billionaires. It’s a disgrace.

If we want to block Trump’s anti-worker, anti-American agenda from continuing to pass, we absolutely must take back the House and Senate. And the road to winning the Senate goes right through Ohio, where Sherrod Brown’s campaign gives Democrats a real shot at flipping a Republican-held seat.

So, Sherrod launched his campaign earlier this week. If he’s going to win, he’s going to need a lot of donations from people of all backgrounds who believe in his mission. Especially in this first week, when the media, the establishment, and the mega-donors will be watching to see if his campaign has momentum.

That’s why I’m humbly asking you today:

Split a contribution of $5 or whatever you can afford today between Sherrod Brown’s campaign and mine. This is a must-win race for Democrats if we are to take back power in Washington, protect the working class from the GOP’s pro-billionaire agenda, and defend our democracy from Trump.
