Dear Friend,

Today the Supreme Court struck down a discriminatory clinic shut-down law in Louisiana. But even though we won this battle, our work is far from over. As we experience a global uprising for Black lives, we cannot ignore the ways that Black people’s health and decisions are disregarded every day by abortion bans, failures to address Black maternal death, and hundreds of restrictions that are part of a 400-year-old scheme to control the reproductive destinies of people of color. Although the Louisiana law is gone, those restrictions remain, and URGE: Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity <[link removed]>will not stop fighting until everyone can get the abortion care they need, when they need it.

We are are calling for bold, proactive legislation <[link removed]> that ensures safe, accessible, and affordable abortions for everyone —  regardless of whether they’re a 17-year-old girl held in detention at the border <[link removed]> or a Black trans man in rural Alabama.

Join us to demand that congress protect abortion access and affordability by passing the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA) <[link removed]> and the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance Act (EACH Woman Act) <[link removed]>. Then, add your voice to ours as we call on lawmakers to tear down the wall of restrictions that young people face when seeking abortion care — including forced parental involvement laws that deprive young people of the right to determine what happens to their bodies and lives.

Together, we can protect abortion access for all, but we need your help.

<[link removed]>Join URGE and demand action today! <[link removed]>

Only by rising up and stepping into our power can we address the systemic racism and other deep inequities that prevent people from accessing abortions without shame, stigma, or financial barriers. Remember: True change doesn’t come from the courts — it comes from us and our communities, when we organize and build lasting power together.

En Solidaridad, <[link removed]>
