Trump just said he wants to steal 100 more congressional seats ahead of the 2026 midterms:

Donald Trump via Truth Social: "More seats equals less Crime, a great Economy, and a STRONG SECOND AMENDMENT. It means Happiness and Peace. But Republicans, there is one thing even better - STOP MAIL-IN VOTING, a total fraud that has no bounds. Also, go to PAPER BALLOTS before it is too late - At one tenth the cost, faster, and more reliable. If we do these TWO things, we will pick up 100 more seats, and the CROOKED game of politics is over. God Bless America!!!"

Republicans’ gerrymandered map in Texas was just the beginning.

Already, we’re seeing his allies in other Republican-dominated states like Florida and Missouri beginning to look at redistricting their own states. In Missouri’s case, lawmakers have already called for these discussions, despite pushback from their Democratic colleagues.

On top of that, Trump is tying these plans directly to his push to end mail-in voting, in a direct assault on our democracy.

Here’s the truth: Republicans know they can’t win fair and square in 2026, so they’re using every tool in their belt to rig the midterms and keep themselves in power.

In California, Democrats are advancing their own redistricting plan in opposition, but the work doesn’t end there. The DNC is already suing Trump for his attacks on voting rights, and we are doubling down on expanding our organizing work to make sure folks are ready to vote like their rights depend on it — because they do.
