For years, Republicans claimed the U.S. shouldn’t act on climate change because China wasn’t.
But here’s the truth today: China is cutting its carbon pollution — while America’s went up.
According to new data, U.S. emissions rose 4.2% in the first half of 2025, while China’s fell 2.7%. That’s a complete reversal of the pattern we’ve seen for years and it should set off alarm bells.
If Donald Trump keeps blocking climate action, here’s the future we’re headed toward:
China dominates clean energy technologies.
China lowers its emissions while ours keep rising.
And the rest of the world becomes dependent on their economy, and not interlinked with ours.
But here’s the good news: we have a choice about what the world will look like over the next decade. If we elect enough climate champions in 2026, we can stop Trump in his tracks and protect our clean energy future.
Every day Trump drags us backward, China surges forward. Let’s change the course of history.
