The growing popularity of reckless conspiracy theories within the Republican Party is by no means a recent development.

But there is no conspiracy theory more dangerous, more detrimental to our democracy than Donald Trump’s repeated cries of election fraud.

For years, we’ve heard Trump whine and whine about every race that doesn’t go his way. But instead of accepting the results of free and fair elections, he’s taking his anger out on the American people. Now, his latest scheme is threatening the existence of California’s election system as we know it:

Yes, you read that correctly. Just days after Russian dictator Vladimir Putin planted the idea in his head, wannabe dictator Donald Trump is following his lead by launching a crusade to restrict access to the ballot box.

If Trump gets his way and implements this illegal, unconstitutional order across the country, California’s safe, secure, convenient election system will become a thing of the past. Instead, Trump is determined to force seniors, working parents, Californians with disabilities, and millions more to wait in line for hours on end just to exercise their Constitutional right to vote.

Free and fair elections are the bedrock of our democracy. But right now, Donald Trump is using every tool at his disposal to rig the midterms before they even begin. That’s why I need your help.
