U.S. Senator Katie Britt is contributing $10,000, the maximum amount allowable, from her Alabama First leadership PAC to State Rep. Rhett Marques’ (R-Enterprise) congressional campaign.
“Rhett is a great friend and a strong conservative fighter who has always had my back and President Trump’s,” Senator Britt (R-Montgomery) said in a statement to Yellowhammer News on Thursday.
“Having been born and raised in Baldwin County and then having raised his own family in the Wiregrass, Rhett is uniquely positioned to champion the priorities and values of this incredible district. I am excited about the fresh leadership Rhett is bringing to the table and congratulate him on launching his campaign for Congress. I have no doubt that the First Congressional District will thrive with Rhett at the helm.” | | | U.S. Sen. Katie Britt is among those supporters of the Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) Department of Defense (DODD) Appropriations Act, which would see more than $851 billion in discretionary spending for America’s defense capabilities. The bill recently passed through the Senate Committee on Appropriations, which Britt is a member of. Among the program increases that Britt was in support of, many include investments in Alabama’s defense capabilities. The increases will see $923 million for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) to procure additional Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) interceptors and facilitation. The THAAD interceptors are manufactured at Lockheed Martin in Troy. | | | BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — National Institute of Health Director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya and Sen. Katie Britt visited the University of Alabama at Birmingham Thursday to discuss the future of medical research. The visit came after Britt announced advancing critical funding for Alabama medical centers, hospitals and universities. During the presentation, she discussed what the general outlook was on how Congress would approach NIH funding in the upcoming federal budget negotiations. Earlier this year, the Trump administration discussed cuts to the group as part of an effort to cut federal spending. | | | I didn’t run for Senate to sit on the sidelines. I’m a mom, a conservative, and proud to stand for every corner of Alabama—our cities, small towns, and rural communities alike. I’m rooted in faith, built on family, and committed to making Alabama stronger and better for generations to come. Alabama is a place of hard work, strong values, and unyielding independence. But the Left is trying to tear that all down. I didn’t come to Washington to play games. I came to fight for every Alabamian who feels forgotten and left behind. Whether it’s securing our borders, protecting our children, or defending our way of life, I’m here fighting for Alabama’s future. This fight isn’t easy, but it's worth it. And I’m not going anywhere. Will you stand with me? | | | | Celebrate conservative leadership and show your patriotism with this unique, high quality, Made-in-America hat. | | | Follow Katie On Social Media: | SIGN UP FOR SMS ALERTS: TEXT "KATIE" TO 27488 | By texting KATIE, you consent to join a recurring SMS/MMS text messaging program that will provide alerts, donation requests, updates, and other important information.
