I know I’ve asked you to support my American Mobilization Project, so I wanted to give an update on some of our recent work and why it matters.

I partnered with Protect Our Care — starting with our fight to stop the Medicaid cuts that Trump used to fund his billionaire tax cuts.

We warned my Republican colleagues that gutting $400 billion in health care funding to pay for their billionaire tax cut would kick millions off their health care and bankrupt rural hospitals.

They didn’t care. They passed it anyway, and they're hoping the American people forget who to blame.

So we’re collecting the receipts.

We built a tool that tracks the damage done to health care centers in real time: [link removed] Every time a hospital closes or becomes at risk of closing because of this bill, we'll know. We’ll make it public, and we’ll tag my senate colleagues who represent those states on social media.

When your local hospital eliminates its maternity delivery unit, or your parent’s nursing home closes, you should know why. It's the direct result of a choice that Republicans and Trump made to choose tax cuts for the rich over health care for normal Americans.

Republicans made a choice. And that choice will cost 15 million Americans to lose their health care, put over 330 hospitals at immediate risk of closing or scaling back services, and 750 hospitals at risk of closing in the years to come.

In September, they have a chance to reverse course and stop this damage before people die. Congress has to pass a budget, and my demand is that we restore Medicaid funding in full in these bills.

Bottom line — Republicans will be held accountable. We’re going to tell this story to mobilize Americans across the country to mount a pressure campaign on their members of Congress to reverse these cuts.
