Friend,

This month, I had the chance to attend the National Conference on State Legislatures (NCSL). 

It was an opportunity to connect with lawmakers from across the country, share ideas, and learn from experts on some of the toughest challenges we face. I was able to attend sessions on different policy areas like fraud prevention, college athletics, and K-12 education. 

Other sessions weren’t about policy at all — but about the human side of this work. Navigating difficult conversations. Avoiding burnout. And, sadly, keeping ourselves safe in an era of increasing political violence. As someone who has received death threats, I was especially interested in what I can do to keep myself, my staff, and my family safe while still doing the job I love.

That’s what NCSL is about: learning, growing, and bringing those lessons back to Pennsylvania. Because the people I represent deserve a State Senator who’s not only willing to fight for them, but also willing to listen and learn along the way. To keep showing up, keep learning, and keep fighting for working families, I need you with me.
