When the Trump administration demanded that the Department of Veterans Affairs ban abortion care with no exceptions, not even for rape or to save the life of the mother, Kim called it what it was: Despicable.

Our veterans have sacrificed so much to defend our freedoms. They deserve dignity, respect, and the full range of healthcare, not to be used as test cases for the most extreme abortion ban in the nation.

That’s why Kim just signed onto the Reproductive Freedom for Veterans Act in the House. This legislation will guarantee that our veterans can access abortion care, medication, and counseling through the Department of Veterans Affairs and ensure that no political agenda can strip away their rights.
