This week the Supreme Court is expected to announce their decision in June Medical Services LLC v. Russo—the first abortion-related case the Court has considered since 2016.

The question at stake is whether or not admitting privileges for abortion providers pose an undue burden on abortion access. But no matter the decision in June Medical, we know that the fight for laws protecting the preborn will continue to be an uphill battle. And, that the disuse of abortion will only come from a cultural shift in which no person has to choose between life or death for their preborn child.

In this week’s episode of Engage with Eagle Forum, we interviewed Care Net President & CEO Roland Warren about how to incite this change. He encouraged us to take an all-encompassing approach to the life movement. We can’t realistically end abortion through our laws and even if Roe v. Wade was overturned abortion would still exist. John 10:10 tells us that:

“…I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

So, as a movement we must desire “abundant” life for the mother and father, who is an often overlooked piece of the abortion decision, and the preborn baby. We must encourage, as is modeled in the Holy Family, a Biblical marriage and parent’s that foster an “abundant” life for their child.

Therefore, we must invest more than our treasure into those facing an unplanned pregnancy—as many of us already do. We have an opportunity to mentor and disciple these moms and dads so that they can find freedom in Christ and then give their child an opportunity to live “abundantly” through Christ’s saving faith.

And with this attitude and with Christ’s work in us, we will help curb the millions of lives killed daily in the name of abortion.
