Dear John,

I’ve been spending time meeting with constituents across our district and hearing their concerns this August, and I want to keep you in the loop.

For the most real-time updates from me, I encourage you to follow me on X, Facebook, and YouTube. Keep scrolling for more, and share this newsletter with a friend.

Last week:

Last Thursday, I was honored to join Ohio AARP for a telephone town hall to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Social Security and talk about ways we are preserving and protecting this critical program for generations to come. It was great connecting directly with Ohioans to talk about my work in Congress and the work I am doing to deliver results for our community, including a $6,000 tax cut for low- and middle-income seniors in our reconciliation law.

Also on Thursday, I joined a roundtable event with the Alzheimer’s Association of Central and Northwest Ohio to hear stories from people caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s and highlight my bipartisan legislation, the Credit for Caring Act.

On Friday, I traveled to Springfield to tour the National Advanced Air Mobility Center of Excellence and meet with members of the Springfield Air National Guard. I toured the facility and received updates on the base and its mission to support Advanced Air Mobility technology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and other national partners.

This Week:

This week, I’ve been across Columbus and Central Ohio.

On Monday, I went to Mt. Gilead to tour the Central Ohio Lineworker Training (COLT) facility and meet with its leadership and trainees. This facility is operated by Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives (OEC), a statewide association of non-profit utility providers delivering electricity to over 1 million Ohioans across 77 counties. Thanks to the Republican reconciliation law, hourly lineworkers will see no taxes on overtime pay when they work around the clock to keep the lights on.

On Tuesday, I was in Columbus to visit Pilot Dogs, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization operating in Franklinton since 1950 that trains expert guide dogs and provides orientation and mobility training free of charge. While I was there, I continued work with its leadership to expand the program and train service dogs to help those dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Later on Tuesday, I met with leaders at Casey Family Services, a group that provides critical child welfare services in and around Columbus. The work they do is so essential in our community, and they have been great partners in helping advance bipartisan and pro-family legislation in Congress. It was great to visit, and I look forward to building on our partnership.

On Wednesday, I was in Lockbourne for a groundbreaking ceremony for a new memorial that will honor fallen servicemembers from generations of American warriors who came through Lockbourne and Rickenbacker Air Force Base, dating back to World War II. This includes the Tuskegee Airmen, Women Air Service Pilots (WASPs), and Lima Company, which deployed to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Afterwards, I toured Rickenbacker AFB and met with members of the Ohio Air National Guard 121st Air Refueling Wing. It was great to meet with leaders from the 121st and see the work they are doing to support our national defense and keep our country safe.

On Thursday, I sat down with business leaders to talk about the bright future of Ohio’s economy at the Delaware County Economic Summit. After passing our reconciliation bill into law earlier this summer, our economy is primed to grow like never before.

In the News:

On Tuesday, I joined 610 WTVN Columbus Morning News to talk about my stops in our district, President Trump’s pursuit of peace in the Ukraine war, his efforts to crack down on crime in our nation’s capital, and even some OSU football.
