This week was another productive week of the August district work period. Yesterday, I met with Texas Farm Bureau members from Nacogdoches, Trinity, and Angelina Counties. As a TFB member for more than 30 years, I value to essential role this organization plays in supporting our agricultural communities across the state. I am grateful for the opportunity to hear directly from East Texas TFB members and will continue working alongside them to strengthen Texas agriculture.

On Monday, I was honored to receive the Eagle Award from Associated Builders and Contractors Central Texas in recognition of my voting record in support of the contracting community. Builders and contractors are essential to our local economy by driving workforce development and building the communities we call home. I remain committed to my support of the contracting community in Congress.

I appreciated the opportunity to receive an update from agents at the Waco Resident Agency, a satellite office of the San Antonio Field Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. As many of you know, my father served as the FBI director under Presidents Reagan, Bush, and Clinton, and I am proud of the dedicated work the Bureau continues to do to keep our communities safe.
