1. 20 Years Later: Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Louisiana
When Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast in August 2005, it quickly became one of the most devastating natural disasters in U.S. history. Americares responded immediately, delivering more than $11 million in medicines, medical supplies and emergency aid in the first year alone.
Over the next five years, Americares invested an additional $12.3 million in long-term recovery – funding a mobile dental clinic and supporting health centers serving uninsured and low-income patients across Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

2. Your Response in Action: Central Texas Floods
After catastrophic floods swept through Central Texas on July 4, claiming at least 135 lives and displacing entire communities, Americares quickly deployed an emergency response team.
