Back to School
It's not just about the cost of putting food on the table--everything is getting more expensive, even down to the school supplies our kids rely upon to start their school years on the right foot.
As New Jersey teachers, families, and students gear up for the 2025-2026 academic year, they're feeling the burden of tariff taxes as they purchase new supplies. The prices of lunchboxes and highlighters increased by over 10%, and the price of a one-subject notebook increased by over 15%. On average, the cost of school supplies increased by over 7%.
Combined with drastic cuts to school meal programs in the Big, Ugly Bill, the administration taking a sledgehammer to the Department of Education, and rising costs of living across the board, it's clear that the Republican agenda is designed not to set working families up for success, but for failure.
