John works for the Oakland, California unified school district, where there are a lot of hungry kids. But thanks to generous people like you, we were able to provide emergency food aid so they can eat.

"Whether a child has enough to eat should not be dependent on the zip code they’re born into, or the financial challenges that their parents have," John says. Without help from No Kid Hungry and others, he added, "we don’t know where they’d be eating, honestly, especially in a time like this."

With your help, No Kid Hungry has supported efforts that are providing as many as 9 million meals every day to kids facing hunger. In recent weeks, thanks to the generosity of people like you, we have:
- Provided more than $15 million in emergency food grants to schools and community groups in every state.
- Successfully advocated for policy changes that will help families in need, including strengthening SNAP benefits and nationwide waivers that will allow schools and local organizations the flexibility they need to feed kids throughout the summer.
- Created a local texting service so families can find meal sites in their neighborhoods.
