REDISTRICTING VICTORY?
Over a month ago, the Missouri Freedom Caucus demanded that Governor Kehoe call a special session to address congressional redistricting to help President Trump secure another U.S. House seat.
Hardly any other Republicans in the legislature supported the idea. The Jefferson City Swamp wanted nothing to do with it. Commenting on the idea of redoing the maps, liberal Republican Speaker Pro Tem Chad Perkins said, “We’ve already done that. To do it again would be out of character with the way Missouri operates.”
The pressure from the Missouri Freedom Caucus and the White House is proving to be too much. On Thursday, President Trump posted on social media that Missouri was "IN" for redistricting and the Lieutenant Governor and Treasurer have publicly stated that they are for it. It's only a matter of time before Governor Kehoe sets a date for the special session.
