These three bills are up for consideration in Congress. Urge your officials to prioritize our rights.

ACLU Supporter, our representatives in Congress are at home this month for August recess – and that means it's time to face up to their constituents. Every single one of us.

They've spent the first seven months of their current term rubber-stamping President Trump's attacks on civil liberties and civil rights – and we, the people, want answers. So we're flooding the inboxes of our elected officials about the issues we care about so they know exactly what to prioritize before they return in September. Including:

* Passing the VISIBLE Act, which would require immigration officers across the country to wear visible identification and keep them from hiding behind ski masks. Send a message to your officials about the VISIBLE Act now. <[link removed]>

* Voting no on a bill that chills criticism of Israel on college campuses and violates students' free speech rights. Send a message to your officials about this violation of the First Amendment now. <[link removed]>

* Blocking poison pills in our government funding bills, cutting any policy riders that would restrict our rights to serve an extreme political agenda. Send a message to your officials about government funding bills now. <[link removed]>

Our members of Congress were elected to represent the people – join the ACLU in demanding that Congress prioritize our civil liberties and freedoms when they return to office in September.

Just a month ago, our elected officials bargained away our rights in a catastrophic funding bill that will throw millions of people with disabilities off their health insurance with the largest cuts to Medicaid in the history of the program. They've poured billions more dollars into President Trump's mass deportation and detention system. Meanwhile, they've done nothing to stop attacks on free speech or our immigrant communities.

Next month, our members of Congress could consider bills on all of these issues – and they need to hear from us.

When they return to office, the messages they receive now will be the first thing on their mind. So let's make sure our message is clear: Our rights are not negotiable.

Congress needs to hear from as many of us as possible before their August recess is up. Join us in sending a message now to protect immigrants' rights, free speech, and all of our civil liberties.

Thanks for taking action today,

The ACLU Team
